Stomach pain at 6 weeks out?

I can't advise about the vomiting, nor the after effects. My only time so far was after my first pieces of ice after surgery. What has your surgeon said about your incision? Some people are slow healers, but if you're draining, that might mean other things that your surgeon would likely be interested in knowing. Not so much your primary care, unless they have extensive experience in abdominal surgeries maybe. So, your needle like pain is not at the weepy incision, but your stomach? HW 370, SW 350, SD 6/20/17

Pictures of my bedroom 2nd day post op

So great!!! Thanks for sharing your bedroom pics!!! It sounds like you are really focused on your healing now and giving your body what it needs to recover from surgery which is traumatic to a body. Take good care of yourself, sending love and light to you and keep those fluids moving!

Those first few weeks, I also had "tunnel vision". If it worked, great, just keep doing it! Really push to get your water up to 40oz today. That's the minimum to keep you out of the hospital, especially in the summer months. (And if you are in the heat, then that's probably not enough). If you start feeling dizzy or getting dark urine, you may want to swing by some place to get a bag of fluids on board. You're doing great!

I actually didn't find out that I had Gastroparesis until I was already in my 6 month program to get gastric bypass. But I was told that it would help. Although my first 2 months were a bit rough with the nausea and vomiting. Sent from my SM-N920P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hunger pains?

Ive been having these too, especially when I am laying down. they really feel like hunger pains, but the spasming sound about right. I am 8 days post op and they have been getting less and less. I have found that keeping a heating pad on my tummy helps a lot. I have not been concerned about it except that I worry that I will continue to be hungry all the time and gain weight

    Advice to anyone pre-op

Hi, what do you mean muscle atrophy? Have your muscles atrophied after the surgery? And have you done any weight lifting at all before surgery? Usually it takes time to see major strides in lifts and sometimes it can be harder if you still have some extra weight to lose. i haven't gotten surgery yet but hearing that you're concerned about your muscles scared me!

I am scheduled to have my sleeve surgery on 21 August in Mexico and I'm concerned about my BMI. I am 210 pounds and 5t 1inch which puts my bmi at 39. I understand I am obese but I'm scared that I might lose too much weight and look malnourished. What is the lowest you seen a person get down to with the sleeve?

As long as you get the sleeve instead of gastric bypass, there shouldn't be a problem. My mom got the bypass and because it shortens the intestines, you absorb fewer calories so you tend to lose more weight. With the sleeve, if you feel like you are losing too much weight, all you would have to do is adjust the types of foods you are eating and lean towards higher calorie foods and you would be fine. I have actually never heard of anyone becoming too thin from either surgery unless they develop post-op anorexia. Post op anorexia is super rare because instead of obsessing about food after your surgery, it kind of become in consequential.
