    I feel wonderful

I am almost five weeks post surgery. Today I worked out for an hour. I have been able to do that in years. I love weight lifting and being fit and I can finally do it again. I have rheumatoioid arthritis and diabetes. Before the surgery I was constantly sick, I had cellulitis 3 times last year. I have worked out 4 days so far this week and I'm sleeping less. I have my life back. I feel like I was in prison before and I have now been released. This is the real me. I may not get down to my goal weight as I love lifting heavy weights. But I have already gotten out of this surgery what I wanted, improved health and energy.

    Pre-op Food Prep

Ok guys, needs some insight. Besides the obvious : gas x strips, protein shakes, measuring cups, water, SF jello, broth, vitamin water zero, SF ice pops. Is there anything else I should stock up on, surgery is scheduled for 7/18/2017 and I'm shopping for everything on 7/15/2017. Help!! Thanks <3

    Thyroid

I just really want to get my surgery. It was scheduled for July 17th and I was in the middle of my liquid pre-op diet when they informed me that I could not have surgery until my thyroid is normal. The bariatrician was fine with it, but my primary care Dr. halted the procedure. I am praying that my levels get back to normal, so that I can do this before school starts.

Post op Day 16... Last night for dinner I was really craving Mexican food. I had purchased some fat free refried beans and avocados and some salsa. I am sure someone has done this before but I hadn't ever and I am shocked I haven't done this before. But I halved the avocado and warmed the beans and topped it with a little bit of cheese I put maybe 1 tablespoon inside the avocado and topped it all off with salsa. OMG. It was so yum. I only ate 1/4 of it (which was one half of the avocado) and I was very satisfied! I cannot wait until down the road I can do this with some lettuce and sprinkle ground turkey on top. I also have positive feedback on my calcium chews...they had me wait a bit before I started taking them...same with the iron pills (which I take at night) but the chews are like tootsie roll consistency and taste like a very healthy brownie. Tonight we are going to the drive in movie and I really really really want some popcorn. I know I shouldn't...good thing it is a drive in and I will not be smelling it as bad as if it were in the movie theater. LOL Happy FRIDAY!

    No weight loss

If you are following your doc/nuts plan don't worry the weight will come off. We are all individuals and will lose at the pace our bodies want to. Stalls are common along the way so if it stresses you out when the scale doesn't go down I would suggest to weigh less often. Your body is healing right now. You will lose if you stick to the plan. Try to relax and enjoy the journey.

    Postop - May 9th Sleevers

Sorry accidentally hit send and wasn't done. Lol. I am May 5th. My water/ liquid intake is good but my protein could be better. Protein for me does not go down very well as I can only eat an ounce at a time then my stomach hurts. I will sometimes end up throwing it back up. Protein also makes me very sleepy and sluggish. Anyone else have this problem? I have dropped two pant sizes almost 3. But definitely have lost inches. Feeling great overall. Sent from my Pixel XL using BariatricPal mobile app

    Help with puréed foods

I ate so much refried beans and mashed potatoes mixed with unflavored protein powder. Enough that I haven't eaten either once since the pureed stage. Also, eggface ricotta bake is suitable for purees; see this post for the recipe and more ideas: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html

    Just finding this forum

I'm just finding this forum. I had surgury in Dec 2011. Best money I ever spent. But I've gained 25 of the 60 lost. Just started eating too much and have gradually gained. Starting a reset today and looking for support and accountability. Anybody out there?
