    4 days post op

Shaines9,LL I, too, had my RNY on Tuesday, May 30th at 8:00AM at Howard University in Washington, DC. The surgeon was impressed with my recovery, etc., and released from hospital the next day around 6:00PM. My pain is very minimal as if I didn't have surgery. I started walking the same evening after surgery and have been walking ever since. I'm 48 years old, soon to be 49 years old September 11th. Hubby and walked around cul de sac yesterday evening and walked a few lapses at the track this morning. Then, rode around in our new ride running errands. I AM TRULY BLESSED AND FAVORED TO BE HEALING SO WELL. I have my one week follow-up appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday, June 7th at 1:00PM. I'm focusing on drinking 2 Premier Protein (30g) shakes, water, and sugar free pudding per day -- thus far, NO ISSUES -- Praise God. TeResa

    Doubtful

Oh my gosh yes. I went to my first weight loss surgery place over a 1 year ago. Starting loosing weight and thought "I can do this my self". Yeah right! I never could before why did I think this time would be different. So here I am a year later had my surgery (4/18/17) and I have LOVED every minute of it! I am down 34 pounds in 7 weeks and feeling so good! All I can say is DO IT! Once the weight starts coming off, you will wish you did it along time ago. That's what I keep saying to myself. Wish you the best!

    From beginning to end

October I sat and spoke to a woman who had gastric bypass, and I decided right then this is my next step to trying to get this weight off. By December 22 I had my surgery date set on 1-12-17. I found a great company called Belightweight who arranged all I need to have it done. Since it was out of my pocket I need affordable price With quality. I had RNY done for $8900. It was like being in a really nice hotel room. I was alone during my stay for surgery. Everything was there I needed and so friendly and nice staff to help with anything I needed. Surgery was two hours, and recovery was 45 min. Then they put me back into my room. First thing I said was can I get up! And I did, I felt like crap and a little nauseous but I pushed through and keep getting up for the first three hours after surgery. By the. Third hour my pain level was very low and it stayed that way the rest of my time there. I was ready to leave before 24 hours after surgery but stayed another night because my flight did not leave till then. Had a really great experience and am so glad I did not have to hump through hoops and wait long time. I am five days post opp and off pain med. I'm feeling good and am so hopeful for future. Right now I am taking day to day and breaking some old habits in this season so when I can eat food again it will be easer. My starting weight 294. I I'm going to wait to weigh in again until two weeks out. I hope you can find some encouragement to those who are have not had their surgery done yet. . My biggest advice is to get out of that bed asap after surgery. Even if it is only one or two steps. Best of luck to you all. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Pain in ribs isn't always "normal"

I had this plastic thing with balls in it and I had to breath in and try to move all three balls to the top of the tubes. My doc said it was to help clear the lungs and prevent pneumonia. At first I could only get one ball up, but I kept at it and after about three days I could get them all up easily. I think it really helped to use that.

Mine was May 30 also. Spent two nights in hospital. I feel I have been lucky. I had some gas pains, but no nausea. Started full liquid diet today and no problems. Was surprised to have gained 5 pounds when I came home, but guess that was just all fluid. Looking for a buddy &/or mentor for this life long journey

I think she could halt any weight loss and probably tear her pouch. The rules are there for a reason. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using BariatricPal mobile app

    CIGNA Insurance

I have Cigna, didn't lose anything during the 3 months. Didn't gain, but didn't lose. No issues getting it approved, went through on the first try.
