    NSV!

I'm down 40 pounds, and almost to my 1st goal. According to my BMI, I'm still considered overweight but if I don't lose another pound, I will be just as content. Had an awesome NSV last week. Was talking to a stranger outside and was shivering from the cold. I had never met this person before so they had no idea what I looked like pre-sleeve and he said "well of course your cold, you're too skinny not to be"! First time in my life I've ever been called skinny!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Depression and withdraw.

So sorry you're feeling this way. I've had WLS friends that have had similar feelings post-op. Surgery fix our tummies not to hold so much food but it doesn't help our mind or addictive ways. Big hug to you!! Maybe you should contact your surgeons office and share what your feeling and see what he or she advise. No one knows you better than yourself so take a moment to think about what would help pull you out of this place? Would reflecting on why you've embarked upon this journey help or maybe reflect over pictures of yourself at a size you're striving to get back to. Find something within yourself to turn your thoughts towards all your gaining by having WLS. hang I there and we are all here to support you. It does get better. You got this you can do this 💪🏻💪🏻

    Getting excited

It is a great idea. I'm doing the same thing, I started my pre-op a week early and when I met my surgeon he was really happy. The more weight we lose before surgery will prepare us better (smaller liver and less fat located in stomach) and less weight to lose after surgery.

    Coffee?

I agree with orionburn, it is best to start with decaf. That's what I did. Then my nutritionist cleared me for regular coffee at 12 weeks post op. She said to start slowly, which I did. I handled it just fine and now at 4 and a half months post op, I drink 1-3 cups of coffee a day. But I have read where some people's nuts or doctors don't want them getting back on the caffeine at all, so your best bet is to check with them.

    Getting excited

I think it's a good idea. I did some liquid only breakfast & lunches to help prepare for it. For me I'm glad I did it. The pre-op was still rough for the first few days but I think it helped take the initial edge off of it.

Surgery tomorrow at 10am and uummmm...

Thank you everyone!! I'm finally post-op. Wasn't as bad as I imagined at all. I'm feeling pretty okay. Anesthesia has had he sleepy and groggy most of the day. In terms of pain, incision pain in minimal. Just feels like I did lots of push ups. Oh boy, but that has pain is a killer. It really hurts. Walking is the only solution. I've walked every chance I got and I'm going to continue to do that. Also, peeing every 10 minutes! Lol So happy I did this and I'm excited to start this new journey of my like. Thank you all for your kind words, well wishes and encouragement. [emoji173]

    5 days post op

I'm only 5 days post op and I'm going with the gallbladder /hernia (that part is true) and the high protein low carbs. It's my business and feel like I don't have to explain myself
