Thank you guys for all the feedback!! I'm definitely not drinking again until I hit 6 months post-op, if not longer. I've never been a big drinker but being young and around it so often it's definitely hard to say no. Bachelorette parties and weddings at least once every two months, living in New Orleans, being single and going on dates. You name it. But that's what this whole decision was about - a lifestyle change to say no to the way I was living

Vitamins are killing my carb limit!

My NUT recommends Nutrametrix Isotonix Multivitamin w/Iron and Calcium powders that you mix with Water. They are 95% absorbed so I only have to take the Multivitamin once a day. I mix 1 capful of MV and 1 serving of Calcium together and drink it before leaving for work. I then take an extra Iron supplement and take 4 more (250mg) chewables of Calcium later in the day and B12 every other day. They are a more expensive up front than store brand Vitamins but since I only have to take 1 serving a day the cost works out to be about the same. I don't worry about carbs at all, just Protein. I follow my NUTs program of 5 meals daily that include a protein serving at each meal plus 3 healthy fats, 2 multigrains and 2 fruits daily plus veggies.

    Cheated

In my opinion as long as you have went through the post op steps and feel okay then consider it retraining yourself to eat. Personally I don't have any plans on not eating a few bites of pizza when say we celebrate with our boys basketball team for winding the 5th grade championship. Yay! I literally had 4 tiny dime sized pieces and chewed till it was almost liquid and slipped down my throat. It completely was filling and full filled my pizza craving. Didn't go over calories for the day and don't feel guilty a bit. It's my way of making this new life work for me but yet remain in Control thankfully! . Good luck [emoji256] Amy☆☆☆

So now waiting for the big day

Your doctor's advice trumps all. If he said that was what you should get, go with that.

You may not be able to take the chewable ones early on. The strips dissolve completely, but the chewables may put material in your sleeve that your doctor doesn't want there in the first few days.

    Time Off Work

I took three weeks. I could have gone back after two, but that last week really helped get me into a daily routine.

    Time Off Work

Hi It really depends what job you have as, no driving for 1 week and no lifting over 5 kg for the full 6 weeks, no gym for 1 month, I can't go for the 6 weeks, take care

    Time Off Work

The standard for my doctor's office is after your 2-3 week follow up appointment. Although they were willing to write it for 6 weeks. I think I could have gone back after I was off of pain meds (4-5 days) but I would have been exhausted. It also depends on how well you recover. I am only 36, I had zero complications, a starting BMI of 42 and was otherwise very healthy - all of which made my recovery very easy. Now if I was still at my old job, which I hated, I would have taken the full 6 weeks.
