Hello My sister got pregnant 18 months after the sleeve. She did not have any problems. She is 38. She was so happy! I am hoping to get mine in the next 2 months.

i am scheduled for VSG on Mar 16th and I am nervous about not getting the final approval from my insurance. My last weigh in for the 6 month required medically monitored weight loss program i gained 5 pounds. The dietitian has me coming back for another 1 on 1 with her because she wants to make sure that i am at back down to my starting weight before i attend the preop class. She advised that even though insurance uses the starting weight for approval if they see thst i have gained prior to final approval. i could be denied. since that news I have been nervous about getting all the way to this point and not getting approved. For the past few weeks my weight has been fluctuating within that 5 pounds. i lost the 5 then I'm back up 3, I lose 2 then I'm back up 1. Can anyone share what they experienced with their preop weight and getting final approval from insurance company? Thanks.

    Hi everyone!

My name is Jen and I'm 4 months post operative today. I started at 255lbs, and I'm 5"5. I was wearing a 18/20. I lost 10lbs preoperative diet, and 37lbs lost since surgery( 208.8lbs) I'm in between a size 14/16 now. I would say that I am a slow looser but that's okay. After getting denied by insurance plan because I had a eating disorder (bulimia) for 15 years, even though I have been in recovery for 8 years, I went through A Lighter Me in Mexico to get my surgery. I don't regret my decision at all, and I have been very pleased with my results. My struggles now are getting my daily Protein amounts, chugging enough Water, hair loss and fatigue. We are in this together so I hope that we can continue to support and inspire each other in this journey! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Feb 16 Surgeries.

We sure do!! My name's Mandy, I'll be having surgery Friday in Houston! I think I might be getting the sleeve though. Last I spoke to my surgeon, he told me to think about switching since I'm currently low in iron.

    Any puréed food ideas

I wonder if I can have a over easy egg instead of scrambled. How I miss real food.

    Natural remedy for GERD

I found that laying down right after eating is what causes it for me. Best is to remain vertical. Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App

Revision from Lap Band to Sleeve

I was banded in 2004, removed in 2012 from complications that nearly killed me. Gained all the weight back. Sleeved in November, the easiest surgery I have done. Love it!

Well, it may not seem that big of a deal but yesterday was the last day that I had to take Ursodiol (used to prevent gall stones). I am so happy that there is now one less pill (tablet) that I have to take everyday.

Revision from Lap Band to Sleeve

Hi, I've been through a band to sleeve conversion after an initial band and then a revision. My band removal and sleeve surgery were done 8 weeks apart. I had my sleeve surgery 6 weeks ago. The surgery went really well even though I had to have an unexpected second hiatal hernia repair. Apparently the surgery took longer than expected. I didn't have much in the way of gas pains. My pain meds worked well and I went home day 2. The recovery was more painful than I'd anticipated so I stayed on narcotics over 2 weeks. I'd heard sleeve surgery is easier than a gallbladder removal. I'd say it was the same as my gallbladder removal. More painful than band surgery, but I'm 18 years older now so that may have something to do with it. It was really hard to bend over for a while and then voila about 2 1/2 weeks in it got a lot better. sleeping was tough bc I'm a side sleeper and I had to sleep on my back for a while. I took four weeks off from work and I'm so glad I did because I needed the time to get my energy back. Now I'm feeling great and am SO happy to have made this change. It's such a different experience physically and emotionally. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
