    It's a Bad Story

:DWhat a great team player, for taking one for us - yay Spot! Much more seriously, I`m glad you came out of the other side of that bad experience. Here`s hoping that`s the roughest spot (no pun intended, but effective) you'll come across. JoanneD

It's different for everyone... it takes about a month for it to completely take effect. I had 5.5cc for my first, after a few weeks, my hunger died. I have zero appetite anymore. So I'm thinking this is what it is supposed to do! Don't be looking for restriction, look for hunger control. The band will never stop you from eating. My hunger is gone, but I control what I eat. It's harder to overeat with the band (I definitely physically can't eat as much, but I can still eat enough to sabotage myself), I'm just satisfied with less, and with no real appetite you don't really care to over eat.

    Getting to Know You

hi all! i'm Ashley I'm 27 from New Jersey. I am married and have 2 dogs who are my kids. I have been overweight my whole life and it's been hard always being the biggest kid in school and then in my family too. I can't walk through the store without hurting like crazy. I am scheduled for my surgery on april 22nd and can't wait! I am on the pre op diet now and struggling every step of the way but i keep thinking of the end result! And i think it's a great idea about the small victories post.. too often we think of the weight as being our only goal but today i was able to fit into a shirt i never was able to fit in so YAY on that lol.

real food! I am still not there, I get them on monday. I went back to work on day 4 and seem to spend the rest of my time sleeping. I am a grocery cashier at a busy Fred Meyers store so there is no rest. The first day back was hard, but doing ok on day three. My hardest thing seems to be getting enough Water in. I drink it all day while I work, but it makes me burp! I also have to remember to quit drinking about 1/2 hour before I have my Soup or else I do not get to drink much of it. As for the BM I am in the same boat. I took something last night hoping to help it along, but nothing....I am not in pain so I guess it will happen when it happens. I talk to my dr this monday for my one week check up and will see what she thinks. My throat has finally stopped being sore in the morning and the dry mouth is gone, so I guess I am on my way. Hope everyone is doing well. Remember it is one step at a time...

    List of WLS VSG Guides

Here is a list of guides for guidelines on food and vitamins after VSG surgery. I take no credit for these, and they are just for my own information and for me to keep up with as I travel on my VSG journey. http://www.sleeveguide.com/uploads/1/7/9/4/1794785/dietguidevged42006feb.pdf http://www.northwestobesitysurgery.com/pdf/sleeve-gastrectomy-diet.pdf http://www.cornellweightlosssurgery.org/pdf/dietary_guidelines_sleeve_gastrectomy.pdf

My doctor said the same thing...... stay away from gummies and get Flinstones Complete instead. Now my son and I are taking the same Vitamin LOL. He also recommended a chewable Calcium citrate, vitamin D3 and Magnesium supplement. Faith

I don't know what pain meds you are on, but Vicodin constipates me something horrible. I'm going to ask the Doc for Darvocet instead. That's what I did for my hysterectomy and it worked great.

You need to see a therapist ASAP and I question your decision to get a lap band...think about it. Best wishes, Mimi
