Headed Into My Soft Food Phase Thursday
DWentz and 2 others reacted to Trellunit for a post in a topic
So far so good and looking forward to my soft foods phase however I will not go out and buy a lot of groceries this time. I will add some things that I would like to try and keep going with what I have. Some things are still hard to get down. I guess the best way to look at it is try new things see what works and what doesn’t but then understand that there are no time limits and you can always come back to eating what you have later. I’m realizing I’m about to save a lot of money. -

Sophie7713 and one other reacted to LasVegasMike for a post in a topic
Hey everyone hope you are all doing well and dropping those pounds. I was just curious how everyone was doing that got surgery in December of 2018. I would love to hear some updates and how everything is going. I had my surgery done by Dr. Marc Leduc. He works at the surgical weight control center in Las Vegas. I had my surgery done at Desert Springs Hospital. I had my surgery on Dec 10th 2018, so just under 4 months ago and I have lost 109 pounds so far. I'm loving the results! -

What should I do .........
GreenTealael reacted to MimsDub for a post in a topic
Hi Bariatric Friends ...... I would like to lose approx. 28 kgs. I have just lost 9.5 kgs. in 10 weeks with Slimming World. I have been discussing Bariatric Sleeve surgery but my daughter is so against me having it done. She says that I will never again be able to enjoy a family meal or a meal out .... that I am not heavy enough to have Bariatric Surgery .... that I can lose this weight by watching my food intake and not necessarily having a bariatric sleeve, which is quite drastic. I have a neurological auto-immune illness, which has caused my weight gain - I was very thin until the onset of this illness. I am on lots of (weight inducing) medication. I am going to be taking this medication for life. I am now wondering whether Bariatric Surgery or basic diet change is the way to go. There is no guarantee that I will lose weight even if I become anorexic because of my illness and the associated medication. Would you recommend surgery or just diet management for my situation. If I could get my jaws wired for a time I could find out if I'm going to lose enough weight to make me happy ...... Thanks in advance for your advice ....... I'm very confused !! -

Dec 2018 surgery updates please

It is wonderful to read all your success stories and the mounting rewards as December 2018 sleevers! Wow. My surgery was 12/17/2018 at NW Medical Center in Coral Springs, FL. I am currently three pounds away from onederland!!! A total of 57 pounds from 258 start weight the first of December. Usually major consecutive holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas thru New Years in the past, meant a weight gain for me. I tried to use restraint, but all the rich, high calorie "specialty foods" of the season just continued the never ending weight battle + cycle resulting in feeling more discouraged and hopeless with each passing year. :[ BUT NOT THIS New Year of 2019! I love my sleeve and so glad to have begun a new, hopeful and promising track! Does anyone else feel the same? Refreshing, right? My blood pressure and blood tests all came back healthy - And, left injured, problematic knee is much improved. Bowels have stabilized and vitamin regime no longer causes nausea. I follow closely Dr. V and my nutritionist's recommendations for balanced nutrition with moderate exercise, at this 3 ½ month juncture. Other aspects I am thrilled about is the ability to be satisfied with so much less volume of food. I really have not missed sugar, salt or fat laden recipes and desserts. While I had made major changes in my diet losing 41 pounds (298 at highest point) before considering surgery last November, the sleeve just simplifies and propels me forward in getting to my healthy weight. I desire to drop another 40 pounds and feel the confidence I can now do so. Not to mention, keeping it off and maintaining a healthy weight via reduced stomach - Breaking the vicious cycle. I have not seen the scale read under 200 pounds in over 23 years! That's a lot of baggage for this petite 5'0" frame and interior designer constantly on her feet. My clothes closet has been purged and taken to a quality consignment shoppe or Goodwill - Now shopping in regular departments for limited clothing in size large for tops and XL for slacks. Most of these sale items are quickly becoming too loose. So happy to no longer see 1X, 2X or 3X (at highest weight) on my clothing labels. Right? Excited for my size 10 and petite medium goal. Really proud of all of us! Let's keep on sharing our victories and "all the nuances" of becoming our best physically and emotionally. None can truly appreciate nor understand this journey we embark... except for us. That makes us a pretty fabulous group of comrades. Happy spring everyone! ;] -

Slight pain not near an incision

Yes! I have the exact same situation going on! My surgery was the 27th of March. I feel a sharp pulling pain when I try to sleep on my side, so for 10 days I have been sleeping on my back. I have a bruise the size of a luncheon plate around my belly button. It is huge, dark, and gross!!! I think the pulling pain will just take time to go away. Best wishes! 1 pointHello all, I am finally joining a weight loos group. After my mother and others from my own support group have told me how I’m here to inspire others and help them along their journey. I have had the Sleeve with Duodenal switch for two years now. February of 2017. The highest I ever saw on a scale was 575. And I’m sure it’s been ten pounds or more over that at some point in my life. And being that Heavy at such a young age (26) and starting my own family. I knew I had to change. But I also knew I couldn’t do this alone. Thanks to Dr. Scott and the surgery I am down 350 pounds have gone from a size 64 pants to a 34. 6xlt shirt to a large. In just 2 years. I wish I had some secret to give everyone on here and to tell you it’s gonna be easy. It’s not. The easiest thing about all of this is getting the surgery. After that it’s all uphill. Learning your new body. Slowly Discovering new loves and hates for foods. Trial and error as to what sits well with your stomach and what doesn’t. Trust me. Your body will let you know. Listen to it!!

1 pointMost people do good on strict diets as long as the rewards are rolling in big (i. e. fast weight loss). Most people don't do good on strict diets as soon as the rewards stop rolling in big (i. e. the fast weight loss stops).

1 pointA year ago, I was getting ready for gastric sleeve surgery. I was tired, fat and unhealthy. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was in insulin dependent diabetic. I was on antidepressants. January 9, 2018 was the day my life changed. And now I’m LIVING! i work out 5-6 days per week, I love kickboxing! I’m down nearly 100 lbs and I feel younger than ever. I’m off all medication and according to my lab work, I’m a whole new woman. For those of you who are considered sugery, DO IT! Be ready to change everything about your current life. My biggest obstacle has been my brain. Changing the way I think about life. About food. About who i have in my life. I found my life. My value. Find yours!!
