    This picture shocked me

Well the song from " Oklahoma" says Everything is up to date in Kansas city" and you're testimony to the fact. While you weren't looking one-half of you disappeared! Congratulations my friend#
  4. Well everyone got to the obvious questions but why did that fruit salad cost 16.95? Foreign (from North America)?

When can I sleep on my stomach?

I'm doing somewhat better thanks to asking. I lay on my side with a pillow. But I stay that way until I get my husband to help me to turn over.. [emoji1] the pain is real. I avoid the pain MEDs as much as possible haven't had it in two days. I was able to ride in the car today without feeling like I was going to die for being shaking up. Lol.... 6. I asked them and they said that they "think they can" but they won't guarantee it. I am talking to a doctor this week I have a few appointments set so I can both have talking therapy as well as looking into medication. I think the surgeon wants to be assured that I am getting treatment and will not back out again before they agree on anything. I can understand if they feel that way. I am just starting to realize that anxiety never goes away, It had been a long time since I have had an anxiety attack and you forget how it feels.
  7. Oh yeah Baby, I am the Queen of All that- June 12th will be either my 12th or 13th lifetime, 10 after my RNY bypass with the strictures and jejunal ulcerations, This should be the last, if it is not at the desirablecstate surgery may be ahead. They have repeatedly dialated, thought at first I was just with an opening that snaps shut but it was more due to the ulcers and swelling present. But it is what it is and will be eventually corrected, in the meantime my weight is decreasing, lost about.110 pounds, give, orbtake since surgery almost 10 months ago to,IT will be 5th of June 10 months. Not the journey I expected or was planning but it's still good and May take me where I need to be.

    Hair losssssssss

I am a red-head, at best we are the fewest hairs per square inch, just had my have cut to a d.a., wore this style at 14, don't gave the swoop ducktail, but if my hair is cut short it does tend to wave and curl.So going that route, wigs are hot, always found them uncomfortable and I just don't have the money they cost!

    Worried mom

He had better consult with his surgeon. I have had many of those things and I am a bypasser with a stricture, food can't pass through. This is usually a gastric bypass problem but not all VSG are exempt. And if one variety doesn't work, tastes so bad you can't stand it, there are many others to chose from. The kind that works for me isn't one you commonly hear of. After 10 months of protein shakes one does become a connoisseur, I finally found one that doesn't choke me up, has flavors I can stand and doesn't totally break the bank. And lastly your son may have developed a temporary allergy to some of the milk proteins, there are soy-based, or plant- based, personally I don't like them as well but they are a total God-Send for many. There are always answers to every question, just not always easy to find.
  10. I'm hoping for a breast reduction as well. Do you think insurance will cover it after wls?

    Hair losssssssss

My big question is when does the hair start growing back. I’m 5 months out, take my vitamins and get my protein, take extra biotin and PRAY for my hair and my vanity. But the hair loss started about 5 weeks ago and has not let up. Almost scary. My hair is so thin you can see my scalp all over. Any ideas on growing back time?? Oh, and my experience is I’ve lost hair elsewhere also.
  12. I had horrific pain and they gave my percocet and hydrocodone. Maybe you should call them, even after hours, to see if they can do something to manage your pain. Good luck! Oh, and for some of us, the pain is terrible.
  13. Chicken broth seemed to fill me up. I used that Campbell chicken noodle soup as broth and I could drink it pretty quickly.

    1 month from surgery

Focus on where you want to go; never focus on your Fears. And Focus means Follow----- One --'-- Course--'-' Until --'-' Successful. Start Walking, enjoying nature and your surroundings. This will get you prepared for pist-surgical exercise. Follow your Doctor's instructions, they have been in the business longer, seen patients through this before, they know what works and what doesn't. Yeah We Are All Different but most of the basics still apply. Practice taking small sips, after surgery you wont be able to chug like a sailor on shore leave. Slow down the speed that you eat now, the practice will stand you in good stead. And every day be grateful, you have been approved for surgery, many people didn't get approved, they would exchange places with you in a. ❤beat. And change is a part of challenge, if you really look you can see the word within it.

When can I sleep on my stomach?

I was able to sleep on my side when I came home, if I was up on both pain medications. The pain would wake me when it wore off. I hope you are doing better!

What do your tattoos look like now?

OMG!!! Congratulations! I'm so happy it all worked out for you. 🙌 😁
  18. Hi! My son is 6 weeks out from gastric sleeve. He is not able to get his protein shakes down due to the taste. Also, he is barely able to eat without feeling gas pressure in his chest and esophagus. He barely eats but when he does he often has dry heaves. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

Have your GERD and attempts to control it well documented by your surgeon. They will likely take you on as a GERD patient instead of a WLS patient ,unless you have significant regain or insignificant losses.

    May 2019 Surgeries 🎉

Well it is to be expected; you are about to embark on a journey that will last the rest of your life. Yes you have done a lot of the preliminaries, but as my Late Daddy would say "Its time for the s*** to hit the fan!" Gosh I miss some of his witticisms! You know it is odd the things you remember. I remember being a mini-Frustr8, attending parades, my little town had lots of them, and Daddy hoisting me up,on his shoulders so I could see better. And how safe I felt! I normally have acrophobia, fear of heights, but never with Daddy, he kept me safe. And I'll close with a thought from my motivational app, says it pretty fine. " Don't think what can happen in a month. Don't think about what can happen in a year. Focus on the 24 hours in front of you & do what you can to get closer to where you want to be." Love 💘, hugs and prayers🙏 from Frustr8 for all your Tomorrows.

    People post less about perfect

Definitely! I fall into the category of super, ultra slow loser too. I don't really compare, but do feel that pressure and have a lot of anxiety that my window will close. I almost started a thread tonight for the ot6her tortoises like me.
  23. any good advice appreciated as I get closer to surgery

    May 2019 Surgeries 🎉

Mine's tomorrow the 27th....still scared, calm but scared. Never experienced that emotion before.
  25. Kinda concerned about the psychological evaluation. I am diagnosed with Bipolar but don't have the highs and lows. I am afraid once he sees that he won't approve me. My provider for mental health said for me to not be disappointed if they say no. That makes me nervous, they act your crazy and can't make rash decisions. I am aware of the emotional aspect of depression after the surgery. I think I will be fine. Is there anything that you have learned from your evaulations that could prepare me?
  26. Anyone in WA with Regence Uniform (state employee insurance), get a panniculectomy and/or breast reduction after weight loss? I am 1 year post op from RNY and down from highest of 268.8 to 156.8. My insurance appears to cover a panniculectomy after 18 months. Sounds like a breast reduction might be covered as well? Some have suggested doing that and paying for implant etc (i want to even them out as well). Any surgeons in the Olympia area you suggest?
