    Carafate question

I take Carafate. I always try to take on an empty stomach and not eat/drink for about 30 min afterward. Also, I have discovered that it is more effective if you dissolved it and take it as a slurry rather than a whole, intact tablet.

Lots of gas when I try to drink

I'm having the same problem 5 days post-op. Warm liquids hasn't made it any better for me. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. I haven't gone there. I went to McAllen, TX and paid 8500 with no insurance. I met with the surgeon for initial consult then 2 week diet + pre-OP clearances.
  5. Seriously perplexed at that bit of snarky to me from you. Just sayin. Things that make you go "Hmmm." SMH

Had surgery on 3/22 and just had my month check up yesterday - down 36lbs so far. Reading through the comments above, I'm also fluctuating with gaining a few and then losing some.

    Carafate question

I took sucralfate (generic) and they were huge. I was told I could dissolve it in a little warm water and drink it. I took it on an empty stomach and was told to wait one half hour before eating.
  12. But running down rabbit holes counts as exercise, right? Just like jumping to conclusions and running your mouth!

  14. I was cleared for full foods staring of week 5. Every surgeon is different.
  15. I went to OA once (years ago) and this poor atheist had no idea what to make of it all. It just wasn't for me. What I wish I could find is a life coach - I too am struggling with the snacking creeping back in.

My doctor had me on protein shakes and bars for at least 6 months.

    Protein shakes and bars forever?

I did have to drink 2 shakes a day for a while, but I was never told to eat protein bars, as they are usually higher in sugar/carbs. I was always encouraged to eat normal food, once I got to that point in my program.
  19. Damn. Tea started it by asking about running shoes. Now I'm down a new rabbit hole. 😯

    ❤ APRIL 2019 CHALLENGE❤

#23 Text an Old Friend I'm going to count something I did two weeks ago for this one: About 2 weeks ago, I re-connected with an old high school friend over Instagram, of all places. Prior to meeting up for lunch soon after texting, we hadn't seen nor spoken to each other in over 23 years. And it was great because it was as if we had not been apart for so long, we just picked up where we left off. I love those kinds of friends. ♥️. #24 Be Creative My attempt at being creative will be to make dinner for the fam out of different leftovers and ingredients that are about to expire in the fridge
  23. Too funny about tape! The one I ordered that was just sleeves rolled down some at the top and made it very uncomfortable. This is the one I ordered although I do wish it was 3/4 sleeve . And could they have found a skinnier model?!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ SlimMe Reach Arm Slimming Sleeve Shaper - Women's Shapewear Nude Shapewear Small https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EDSXEE4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_c1mWCbPHTK2F7
