@Naughty Glitter Goddess OMG I love that gingham one!!! I just went to Target myself and they had soooooo many options. Isn't it awesome to be able to shop at a "regular" store? You look fantastic!!! And is that a TEXAS tattoo I see there, Miss Oregon?? LOLOL!!

    April 2019 Surgeries!

I just got my sleeve Mon, Apr 15 and came home yesterday. Things have gone really well! I’m working on my fluid intake with my tracker sheet. My pain has been minimal, as has been my nausea. I’m mostly just tired, which is totally expected. I got my laps in at the hospital with no problems, and am making sure I get up at least once an hour during awake hours to keep blood circulating. My biggest struggle has been doing the spirometer as often as I should have in the hospital and I can tell.

    Anyone else eat melba toast?

Melba toast and multi grain crackers are on my list for Week 5. I never ate them before surgery and don't plan on it, since I don't see the nutritional benefit (mostly of melba toast).

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Measuring tape will be your friend. In fact, it’s what I went for first this week before I weighed in because I just knew after my 3 pound week last week I’d see a number I didn’t want to see Good thing, because I’d lost a half inch on my waist and hips and 3/4 inch on my lower abs. I’m very pear-shaped so these are the areas I pay attention to most. So far nobody’s really said anything about my lost weight which is kinda disappointing, but hopefully soon it will start to be really noticeable

Anyone else playing the waiting game?!?

I am waiting also. Just heard back this morning from insurance and after they had the paperwork for a week and it was the last day they had to get in touch with me they tell me they need information from my family doctor. So now I get to wait longer

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Hey everyone!!!! Can we get some updates from those who have had surgery? Let's provide some encouragement and realistic expectations for our 3rd and 4th week April Surgery Pals :-)
  11. HI All, Need a little assist here. Was Sleeved 2/11/19... In the morning I am normally rushed (get myself ready and kids ready and to school and then off to work all by 7:30am) and don't have time to make a meal... I was taking my vitamins and meds before I left the house in the morning (Bariatric Choice ONCE DAILY Vitamin, Ursodiol, a bp med, and pantoprazole), however afte rtaking the pills on my way to work I would gag and cough and a couple times had to pull over to vomit... So I thought I had a solution - On my way to work I drink a Premier Protein shake and then take the pills, so I have at least something in my stomach when I take the pills. It went well for a couple weeks and then today I got the same thing soon after taking the pills and had to pull over... Anyone else have this issue? and is there any good solution?

I’ve always wondered this too. My team has never set a goal for me or given me an amount they expect me to lose.

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

So I got a question for you all: the 60% average of excess weight that most patients lose in the first year, how do you determine what is 'excess'? Are we suppose to be using the BMI scale which for me is max 164 lbs, or one of the ideal weight scales, which is 141-145 lbs. ??

I am sorry you are feeling blue. a let down after surgery, once you get to the real work is pretty typical. it is a hard road we have chosen. but the benefits will far outweigh the sruggles

I wear the Spanx spotlight on lace bodysuit ALL THE TIME. Right now I wear a large, I could probably do a medium but I’m not in it for a crazy level of shaping. This tackles any unevenness and prevents Jello-like ripples on heavy steps or when I sit down in a weirdly shaped chair. Some people get freaked out by the logistics of it being a one piece, but always liked this sort of foundation garment anyhow, so i don’t find it remotely restricting.

    TMI periods

Since your body is adjusting with hormones and all i would one get over night pads. The bigger the better and less mess! Since this is your first one and you just had something major done to your body i would wait it out like a regular period and if there is more issues with your next cycle . consult your doctor

  25. For those of you who have gerd prior to sleeve procedure, just wondering how your gerd symptoms are after the sleeve procedure. I take prevacid daily and it's well under control. I do no want to have gastric bypass which is what is recommended sometimes if you have gerd. I've read where it's not such a problem for some people. Comments are appreciated Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
