    February 2019 weight loss buds

Lots going on in my life so I am not checking in frequently but read the comments and got caught up to see how everyone has been doing. Sounds like everybody is still losing between one and 3 pounds a week. I am closer to the 1 pound club. I did have to purchase a new swimsuit bottom which I did yesterday at Walmart. My old swimsuits were so stretched out that when I put them on they were gabbing and bagging everywhere and I felt exposed! I procured myself a fantastic black bikini bottom from good old Walmart to go with my tankini tops. I purchased it in a MEDIUM and waited till I got home to try it on. A little snug but no gapping at all of course and will work fine with my existing tankini tops. I have not worn a medium in years and I would’ve never reached for it before. Yeah yeah so there’s fat rolling over the top of it but I got the dang thing on. Success!!!!! My Vegas trip was canceled and I would not have hit my goal weight by then but I am just trucking along losing my 1 pound a week.

  4. Hi everyone :) I was wondering if I could ask for some help please? A quick introduction to my weight history. SO from a young age I was always overweight. Primary school I was the chubby girl, in high school I was the fat girl and in university the weight piled on even more until I got to around 16 and a half stone where the weight maintained itself. Then in the year of 2016/17 I went on an extreme diet and exercise regime where I lost ALOT of weight by myself, in the beginning it was great I felt in control and very motivated but then by the end of 2017 I had lost too much weight, I was severely depressed, lacking in nutrients, I had no friends and my weight plummeted to 6 and a half stone :(. Then in February of 2018 something just snapped in me I was tired of being constantly anxious and avoiding food so I just started eating EVERYTHING I had banned and BOOM by the end of 2018 I was back up to 17 stone again!! I understand that my body needed the food but my anorexia phase went straight into binge eating and I have been struggling ever since :( all that hard work for nothing but I was so miserable I just wish I hadn't taken it so far! Now I want to have WLS (I am going to therapy) and have been in contact with a surgeon here in the UK who is lovely, I want to take my time, heal my mind and body but I am just so down with my relationship with myself and food at the moment :( Can anyone offer any advice please? The surgeon believes the mini gastric bypass would be the best route but I would need to select the package with the 12 phycologist sessions. How has everyone's experience been after surgery? I just am afraid of going back the way I was, I never want to be like that again but I am feeling horrible at the moment :( Thank you! :) Char

  6. Ugh! I am 15 days post op and I did a bad thing and I hate myself for it. I ate half of my kids kinder surprise egg and I feel terrible. Physically and mentally. I melted it on my mouth but why did I have to do that?! I am reading forums and blogs to see what happens and if anyone has ever done it but looks like I am the only big mouth that couldn’t stay away. Please tell me it’ll be ok.
  7. Has anyone used Blossom for sleeve revision to bypass?

Anyone else playing the waiting game?!?

Congrats...and i'm having bypass as well. As for last tests, i'm sure it's basic tests to make sure that we are healthy enough for surgery...labs and probably ekg.

Anyone else playing the waiting game?!?

Congrats on getting approved. I've been trying for weeks to get the financial group that handles the hospital's billing to tell me how much i'll owe them up front.
  13. I plateaued towards the end of my 6 months. It's not that unusual. If we could maintain a diet long term, we wouldn't need surgery. I'm not sure what advice to give about postponing your appt. If your insurance doesn't have any stipulations about your weight during the diet, it should be ok. I'd keep the appt and if it's bad, then just ask them for another week to get it back on track before sending in the notes from that visit.

    May bypass

Hello everyone. I’m so glad to see this forum. I’m planning a revision to the mini bypass as well. I was originally sleeved in 2013. As with everyone else, I’m plagued with heartburn and weight gain. I’m planning to self pay and return to my original surgeon. I’m hoping to have my surgery sometime this summer.

    Best protein bars

Quest bars are good, once you get used to the texture and they have very good reviews

Gotta and Sheribear, sleeve siblings, we are so much alike! I get compliments about losing weight BUT I only lose a pound a week if I’m lucky (since week 4)? The scale not my friend but I’ll use measuring tape instead. Keep it up. You’re an inspiration.

Yes, Korean bbq😋. Had a lunch group meeting at a sushi house that offered bento boxes and it was the softest meat option and without having to explain why not eating sushi since many knew I cut out rice from my meals (packed most of it to go for husband to enjoy). Cravings are insane but spot on about it being mainly mental. Had a craving for frozen yogurt and after a couple tablespoons, lost interest. Bummer yet a win?! Wont complain.

I just had mine done yesterday, and was nervous as hell! Not as bad as I thought it would be.i had a couple bouts of nausea and a little pain.. not bad at all. You’ve got this.. I watched a lot of YouTube videos on people’s experiences. And happily went an purchased stuff I would need. Plus I envisioned going shopping for smaller clothes 😊 Good luck to you!

    Hi everyone :)

I'm Rina from New Zealand and scheduled to have my gastric bypass June 10th and will begin my 2 week preop diet May 27th. My surgery was suppose to be May 6th but my surgeon had an accident and broke his hip. The wait till has been so challenging as I'm so ready to do this....anyone else counting down the days? 24. Hello all.... I have my last appointment (friday) before my paperwork gets submitted for approval. I had a recent doctors appointment and I could not believe the scale. I gained 10 pounds since my last month bariatric weigh in. I believe the weight gain came from self sabotage knowing that my last appointment was coming up. I found it very hard to stay on track. My weight has fluctuated during this whole 6 month process but the 10 pound weight gain would put me right at what I started at 6 months ago. Im Thinking about cancelling my appointment and giving myself a week or two to really push myself and see how much weight I can loose before I do my last weigh in for my 6 month requirement. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? FYI my insurance doesn't say anything about weight gain, but the doctor suggested that I be under my starting weight for insurance purposes and showing active participation in the program. I'm very upset with myself to get to this point and now this. Thanks Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

I had mine today 4/1719, I felt all kind of emotions going thru the process, but I trust the Med team, I’m 13 hours out and although it’s a little painful, it more like over working out muscles at the gym... 3day will probably be worse, but now that it’s over! I’m excited about my results ina few weeks, then months.. Hang in there, you can do it..
