  1. Past hour
  2. Don't mind people who say that you are taking the easy way out. Going under anesthesia and all the test and planning is not the easy way out. I am going to strut into work with no high blood pressure, no prediabetic like I was on the runway at a NYC fashion show.
  3. Stay in your lane, Orchids. 😉😉 Jokes that bomb on this forum are usually my job. 😆
  4. Yes indeedy. Too much MRSA and MSSA floating around in the hospital. They don't want to risk any open sores.

    (ms.sss) 6 Month Post-op Update

I am definitely going to take your advice by journaling everything I eat. It seems to be the best form of accountability. My program suggested 5000mg biotin chewable for hairloss and nails.
  6. Wow! Look at you go girl!!! You're a rockstar!!! Go go gadget!
  7. Almost to 60 hours! Around 40 hours I started to feel weird but I took a walk and got some smart water and made it through. Salt has definitely been my buddy this fast.
  8. I wasn't told that but gtk. I suggest getting a wax anyway about two weeks before surgery. Treat yourself to the waxing and you won't have to worry about shaving for 6 weeks. The new hard was doesn't hurt at all.
  9. I'm also pre-op and have this question. I plan on taking a week or a week and a half of vacation, then go back to work. I have excellent disability and FMLA but honestly I don't want the questions and I don't plan to tell people I have weight loss surgery. The people judging me for taking the easy way out...arghhhh. Just going to say I am eating less and moving more, which is the truth.

    Surgery tomorrow, anyone else?

Congratulations, and wishing you an easy and safe recovery!!!
  13. I was encouraged to eat real food as much as possible starting at 4 weeks and only use one protein supplement meal replacement each day if necessary

    Pre-Op Diet Adherence

I was too afraid to not follow surgeon's instructions to the letter, so I stuck with my pre-op diet.
  15. I had to use the antibacterial soap wipe thing but they never said anything about not shaving.

    It is getting real

That's great news. Good luck on your WLS journey.

    Liver Shrink Diet

Mine was just calorie-restriction to 1500 calories/day for two weeks prior to surgery with focus on no fatty foods.
  18. GradyCat

    Outpatient sleeve

I didn't think it could be done outpatient because you have to do the "leak test" 24 hours afterward. I was in the hospital two nights and thank goodness for it because I was so nauseous on Day #1 post-op.

    Weight maintenance

I can't imagine at this point trying to gain weight, I'm still focused on the losing. Congrats.
  21. Yeah I agree @ms..sss has done some pretty cool stats there for her 6 months. I hear her on the hair, mine sticks up in the air in the morning. WSYX, our ABC affliate in Columbus, has a pair of Osprey(fish hawks£ that nest every year in their tower because they have a glorified pond called Broadcast Lake on their premesis. Well every year they attempt to raise a clutch of eggs. Last year 2 of the 3 they did raise. So Sinclair€ named for the owning broadcast group) and Felicia( because of course. she's a Fish Hawk) raised Junior and Sissy Osprey in 2018. On the few years a third egg hatches, it's Bubba m Anyway the anchors think the babies are so cute, they have a tuft of baby hair sticking up, look scrawny and uncoordinated when first hatched. If their hair was red instead of grayish we would resemble each other in the AM. The thinnest areas of hair for me are the crown of my head and my bangs have gotten pretty whispy Tried using some gel yesterday., made 8t look like someone blew their nose on my heads Guess I will revert to just warm water, a comb, instead of a brush, and hope I don't frighten the small children and horses in the street! Other people who know me say I am looking GOOD, gosh was I that bad before? So I love/ hate my appearance in the mirror almost as much as the porcelain fixture. Still having trouble with the solider foods, even though I chew to a gray pulp or I think I do. So I go back to soups with protein piwder mixed in , cooked carrots, peas occasionally, brocolli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, they are usually a hit in Chez Frustr8, green beans. Made some homemade Cauli-Broccoli soup with lower fat cheese stirred in. Also have pureed 15 bean soup with Turkey Ham in it, good with a pinch of cheese on top, sorta like refried beans. A bowl of diet pudding. made maybe every other day, and in a Rubbermaid container with lid. Thi,long of making diet raspberry Jello with unsweetened applesauce in it, maybe put in muffin cups in bottom of fridge. Well I started out with BMI of 50+, now down to 34-35, is that okay for 8 months out? Means I am now merely obese instead of MORBIDLY so, think my planned goal is still in " overweight" instead of " Normal" , okay by me, to reach there I would be 140, that would be TOO DURN LOW and I suspect unsustainable for this Old Broad. I might gave been that size at 13-14 years old, Eisenhower was probably President then. Long ago, Far away, I belonged to the 4H, Girl Scouts, was playing basketball and softball , catching baseball with guys in the neighborhood, otherwise they couldn't field a team, and none of the guys liked catching in the first place, wanted to pitch or play fielder. Actually fought over having to play infield positions.

    Surgery tomorrow, anyone else?

    💜Congratulations and Safe Journey💜

    Is my goal reasonable?

I have not had the surgery yet but I think that's totally possible, if you add working out into your day and eating well (track calories?) then you should smash it! 🙂 Do not let them discourage you! Although do remember it's not the weight on the scales that ultimately matters but how you feel in your self and clothes, some peoples journeys are quicker than others. I wish you all the best 🙂
