Surgery is complete! Onto road to recover

Hey there! Thank you so much and good luck to you on yours! And yeah there’s a leak test, they make you drink this god awful contrast which I nearly threw up (why they don’t make one that tastes good is beyond me) lol

I haven't told anyone about my surgery

i just told my husband I wish I would have never told anyone except him! now I'm starting to feel the pending judgements from friends of , well how much weight have you lost question, the thinking i cant believe she hasn't lost more weight yet , blah blah blah. me and my big mouth! Ha Cant go back they all know and I guess I will have to deal with it. And the kicker is none of them are overweight that i've told. So I guess I will either get support or behind my back judging. UK Theres my rant!
  4. I’m 7 months out, was having this pain. I had a cat scan done just to see what was wrong and they were like it’s nothing you maybe had gastritis (they didn’t even knowwwww). I’ve been taking Prilosec for the last two weeks and symptoms are the same. My co-worker whose mom had gastric bypass said that she had scar tissue form around the stomach area that was cut. If I keep having this pain I will definitely get an endoscopy so they can see if that’s the case.

    Waiting

Tomorrow will make a week that I had my last weigh in at the surgeons office. Today I sent an email and left a voicemail for my insurance advocate inquiring about my file being forwarded to the insurance. I even sent her information from my last dr visit, which was the day before my last weigh in, just Incase she needed something extra. NO answer, do these people not realize how inpatient “we” are once you have completed everything that was asked of us. I’m hoping she gets back to me before the end of the week, because I can’t go another weekend waiting just to be submitted for approval. #prayingforpatience

    April Sleevers

    April 15th for me!
  7. Hi i'm going into the 4 week soon I'm like a lot of people on here and hit a stall. But I'm wondering what the calorie limit some have for themselves? I.m following the plan and portion sizes, canned chicken 1 oz , tuna , salmon etc. Protein shake homemade with 1/8 cup blueberries. 1 oz cod and green beans with little cheese, of course the 1 oz scrambles egg and tablespoon of mozzarella cheese also a half of avocado. And a snack of sugar free pudding 1/2 cup. Everything i can have in my food binder. I also just stared my lose it app to keep track again. Anyways about 800 900 a day. Would love some others food choices and calories . Thanks
  8. After I completed all the requirements my program had an informational class and then we met with the surgeon one on one. They submitted to insurance the next day and it took 3 weeks for my approval. After that I scheduled my surgery and last pre op appointment. My last appointment was 2 days before surgery. I am now 3 weeks and a few days post surgery.

    Pounds lost

There are factors on how much you lose and the rate. Age, sex, hormones, medical issues, and medications. What you can control is you're diet and exercise staying-on on plan. Some of us lose fast some of us lose slow. The statistics with the sleeve is expect to lose 60% of your weight. It's not how fast you lose it's the fact that you're losing weight is what's important. My regimen is following my plan. I log my food. I keep within my calories/macros. Working out. I started walking right after surgery. After my dr released me to do more. I did elliptical. I had my first stall 3rd month. I mixed my cardio up on three different machines. As I progressed I did cardio with some weightlifting. Find what you enjoy. Make a commitment to it and it becomes habit. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. Today I had my Psyc evaluation. 45 min talk with Dr then a 370 questionare no bad. Dr say he will remand my surgery. I will have my stress test on Wed Sent from my LML414DL using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. My bmi is 33. Weight 203. 5'6. I'm in the same boat you're in. Tried everything. Really need to get this 40 lb off. I feel I've made the right decision by having the sleeve. Will be doing it late May. YOU DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS BEST FOR YOU Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pounds lost

I'm just over 18 months post op and am down 177 pounds from my highest weight of 347. Time has flown by, now back to the gym to hit weights harder to try and put on some mass.
  16. Hello all! I had the Duodenal Switch surgery on March 26th and a little less than a week ago I switched from liquids to soft food. Since then, I’ve been getting extremely bad headaches after eating dinner sometimes. I was thinking that maybe it could be the salt content but I’ve had saltier meals and didn’t get a headache. I checked my blood pressure after eating tonight when I got a headache and it was low. I also feel like when I do get these headaches it’s when I accidentally overeat a little so maybe that has something to do with it. If this persists I’ll contact my doctor but I wanted to get some ideas on what it might be first. Thanks in advance!

  19. I was on a lot of pain meds. My daughter crushed and measured my meds for the middle of the night. Also, she made her dad food for the first month and I paid her. It was a godsend not having to worry about it.

    Disappearing lapbanders

Hey I'm here with you!! I have the lap band! I am only a week and 4 days post op... Was able to transition to Mushy foods!! That's expected with the band you lose weight slower than you would with sleeve or bypass. You will have to put in some work! Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Marine! Wow that’s amazing weight loss and thanks so much for posting your progress so far. I think I’m going to continue to post progress pics every month as a way to track. It’s easy to get caught up in day to day and forget to take a step back and see the bigger picture

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Yes! This is exactly the reason. Even though a small amount for someone else, suddenly increasing carbs will cause us to get “fluffy”. I’ve almost exclusively blocked carbs from my diet, but I’ve noticed lots of joint pain and inflammation and just a general feeling of “ickyness” if I have more than usual. Also, the honeymoon period varies but I’ve been told anywhere between 8-14 months.

    Probiotics?

Christine, do you eat yogurt too? I had my sleeve 2 months ago and I get an ache in my stomach that comes real quick and goes. I'm hoping the protonix and probiotic might help.
