Hi, today I am 2 weeks post op. I go for my first fill on Wednesday the 17th. I have noticed that I can not eat carbs or sugar because it immediately makes me gain or stop losing wieght. I am trying to stick to eating chicken and protein shakes with soy milk. Has anyone noticed that regardless of how little you are eating if it includes carbs or sugars you don't loose wieght.

I am going to begin calroie counting.

Hi, Have a Happy journey to you. I choose not to eat simple carbs and sugar is a simple carb. Breads and overly processed grain foods are also simple carbs. Not a bandsters friend. They tend to go right thru you and do not stay to help you feel full. Eat real foods, not too much mostly plants with proteins first. Slowly! I am in my journey 72 weeks way over a year and I am maintaining a 110 pound weight loss. I love to cook and make most of all my own food. I know what goes into it now. I am slowly becoming a food inspector LOL. My body feels so much better when I fuel it well. It has healed itself and I am so much better for this. Best wishes and enjoy you successes. imaluckydog

I was at a stall about 2-3 months ago and my ex-workout buddy (she is now a hater lol) did Atkins so I followed it. Brought me right out of the stall. I still don't eat more than about 35 g of carbs max a day. When I go above that I tend to not lose or even slighly gain weight. Corn, potatoes and crackers are basically gone from my food list.
