(Excuse the attachment, but I can't get fb to let me copy and paste today.) Linda, Although technically it's none of my business, as you may have noticed people on the forums try to help each other by sharing info that might protect you. So, I wanted to let you know that my doctor, told me he didn't want to see anything in my stomach on the day of surgery. If he did, he'd have to close me back up because there's too much danger of infection. He had me on clear liquids 2 days before surgery, and I couldn't eat or drink anything after Midnight. How is hubby (name?) feeling about his impending surgery? As I recall, my sugar levels were all over the place after surgery. They ran quite high ... at one point, I believe they were in the high 300s. And my blood pressure, which is almost never a problem, was nearing 200 as well. I guess it's safe to say that the surgery was a real shock to my system and my body reacted acccordingly. Some/all of this could have been caused by neeeding a blood transfusion.
