Hi,I have been an occasional reader of posts on this website over the last 6 years after i had  lap-band surgery things went well for me up until 3 weeks ago It initially started with bad pain in the lower right hand side of my back, I initially assumed it was due to the fact I had been away and had forgotten to take a medication I need to help with pain symptoms due to an auto-immune disease I am so lucky to have been blessed with, over the following couple of days the pain worsened and I had started to throw up [I thought i was throwing up in response to the extreme pain i was in] a quick visit to the local GP to get some pain killers until my medication kicked back in was what I thought was needed, over the next two days the pain worsened and I was throwing up approx every 1/2 hour nothing would stay down including water it felt like it was getting stuck right under my breast bone, my Husband took me to the hospital after 4 days they gave me some intravenous fluids and released me after about 6 hours, after returning home I was still throwing up, during the night I started throwing up what looked like ground coffee, very black in colour and very scary, i made it through the night woke my husband who took me back to hospital where they diagnosed me with a major band slippage, they did not have the facilities to deal with that so I was airlifted to a major hospital and after a few tests the doctors told me the band had not only slipped but my stomach had fallen inside the band and twisted and perforated they then transfereed me to another hospital where i had the band removed, i spent the next 10 days in hospital recovering my jaw was dislocated and a tooth chipped whilst they were doing investigations and one of my lungs also collapsed during the surgery, now I have to play a game of wait and see as the surgeon is concerned some of my stomach might have died, the surgeon that initially installed the band NEVER told me to the full extent what could go wrong, the anethaetist came to see me after it was removed and told me he was amazed I was still here, so  basically I have been to hell and back in the last few weeks I am at home now and slowly getting better I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem to me and could tell me how long it will actually take before I am feeling 100% ???????
