Well...I had lapband surgery back in July 2010. Since then, it has been hell, to say the least! I dealt with it because I figured it was the tool I chose to help me lose weight. I was sick and in pain pretty much the entire time. I had to have a complete "unfill" because I couldn't keep anything down, not even water. The doctor sent me to have an upper-GI and of course, it slipped. That was in May 2014. I decided to have revision surgery instead of having the band repaired. Meanwhile, I had to go through the hoops again with insurance-Tricare (pulmonary, sleep study, cardiology, psych., etc.), and it has taken until this month, November, to get everything done and approved. I have elected to have RNY. My surgery date is December 15, at which time my surgeon will remove the band and perform RNY surgery at the same time. I am soooo nervous, but soooo ready to get my life back. Since I have all of the fluid removed, I have nearly gained all the weight I initially lost. I am so ready to be healthy and fit!
