Mine is very simple...I had had enough. I was tired of always being the one on the sidelines because I was embarassed of how I looked. I had a 1 year old daughter who wanted to run around and I just couldn't do it, so I decided to do something about it. I chose Lap Band because I wanted a learning tool that I had to make work in order to acheive my goal instead of a potential "quicker fix". Also, being that I was younger I was hoping that by getting the Lap Band that by losing weight slower then with Gastric Bypass that my skin would still have the elasticity in it toshrink with me and not hang. I went to a seminar on June 23, 2008, was approved by my insurance company on August 25, and had my surgery September 16, 2009. I have lost 63 pounds since that date and I am currently 8 months pregnant and I am still safely losing weight. Since I am losing weight during my pregnancy, I do not have the gestational diabetes and the high blood pressure that I had with my first pregnancy in 2007.
