Hi Everyone!
 
I have just joined BariatricPal after lurking in the background for several months.  I first started my journey by attending an information session back in July 2014 at the advice of my primary care doctor.  After a lot of consideration and thought, I set an appointment with the surgeon in December 2014.  At that time I could not totally commit.  I finally decided to commit in February 2015 and began with the process.  I was approved for surgery in October 2015 and am scheduled to have my surgery on February 23, 2016.  I will be meeting with my surgeon next week and will decide at that time which surgery to have (bypass or sleeve).  It is my hope that I can receive the kind of support I need through BariatricPal.  I have just requested to join my local chapter and hope that I will be approved.  I have been married for 31 years and my husband is very supportive.  I have 1 son, who is married, and 2 grandsons.  My son and daughter-in-law are very supportive too.  We got a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy last August and he sure keeps us busy!!  He is so special to me.  He is almost 8 months old now and weighs 80 pounds!!!  He is or 3rd Bernese we've owned since 1996 and they have such terrific personalities.  Very laid back.
