Hello all!
 
I am having surgery on May 26th the day after Memorial Day.  So far the preoperative diet is going pretty well.  My surgeon requires protein shakes and non-starchy veggies only for two weeks pre-operatively.   
 
Looking forward to moving about easier and feeling more energetic.  Have had relatively few bumps in the road once I decided to have the surgery, but I think it is because I am self-pay and not having to wait for insurance to cover.  Sadly, the insurance plan I have does not cover bariatric surgery at all.  I think this is ridiculous as it lessens the burden they will have to pay for health conditions down the road, but it is what it is at this point. 
 
I am quite excited and working hard to get to where I hope to be one day.  I have seen so many positive people on these forums and a few not so positive ones.  That being said, I am happy and proud to be among you.  Bless all of us as we soldier on towards better health!
