Just starting my journey. Saw surgeon at The Davis Clinic in Houston on April 27, scheduled my nutrition classes for next three months; scheduled required sleep study; set up cardiac appointment; psych evaluation and endoscopy. Should have all testing completed by June 13 and finish nutrition classes in July. I'm excited, but trying to contain excitement in case something happens to prevent the recommended bypass surgery. Hoping to learn more from people on this site and be encouraged to embrace this wonderful opportunity. I'm an older patient (68) but Dr. Primomo believes my quality of life would be greatly improved with bypass surgery. Hoping insurance company feels the same way. We will keep our fingers crossed and say many prayers! Weight on April 27 was 248 and I'm 5'3". Been struggling with weight for 20 years or more. Have been able to lose on many programs, but not able to sustain that weight loss.
