I have been over weight from puberty on. As a Junior High Schooler I weighed 165. So this has been an ongoing issue my entire adult life. As a young adult I tried a lot of diets like Weight Watchers, Nutri-System, Cabbage soup diet, LA Weightloss and many fad diets. Things worked but not for long. In April of 2010, I decided to have the Gastric Band surgery done. In the first year, I lost 110pounds, but not without a lot of vomiting. By the end of the second year, I was having bad stricture and reflux problems which led to having all of the fluid removed from the band. The result was a 40 pound weight gain. That was devastating. I began having the band filed again and maintained that weight for another 18 months with no additional weight loss, but missed how good I felt with the extra 40 pounds off. However once again I started having reflux and vomiting issues. My surgeon said that I was a perfect candidate for a revision surgery to the gastric sleeve. I saw him in the middle of March 2015 and had the revision surgery on April 20,2015. I have lost 20 pounds from the pre surgery diet until now. I feel great and no regrets in having the revision surgery. Just the thought of knowing that in a few short weeks I will actually be able to take a bite or 2 of the foods that I like and have had to deprive myself of for the past 5 years is satisfaction alone.
