I've been overweight all my life. But, it has been the last 15 years that have been the worse. I'm at the point where I can't think of spending the rest of my life this way. I need to loose over 100lbs and I've tried. I eat from a salad plate. I eat low carb. I eliminated soda, I eliminated sugar. I've been to a nutritionist. I've joined  on line forums and have read what seems like every single article on what to do what not to do and so forth. I'm just tired. I found a new doctor that is very supportive. After being on meds for depression for almost a year and discovering that there was help for a lot of the physical pain I had and now know what it feels like to be pain free. I want more. I turned 51 and can't think of spending the next 15 years not doing things I want to do, and then retirement looks bleak. I'm ready. I've got my insurance approval and will be setting a surgery date soon with my surgeon. Surgery is April 15, 2015. I had surgery the afternoon of April, 15th. After recovery, they sent me to what they call a step down unit, to further recover from anesthesia. On the evening of April 16th they set me up in my own room. I left the hospital on April 17th about 3pm. My mind is blown. I've never had surgery or even spent time in a hospital. I won't lie, it was completely awful at first. But bit, by bit things have improved. I get nauseous on liquid pain meds. But I also got prescription for nausea meds too. Tonight I"m sipping a protein drink and its not so bad.
