I am almost 50 yrs old and suffer badly from RA (RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS).  I take Orencia self injected weekly and 25 mg of Methotrexate weekly.  I am worried when I stop my imuno suppressants I will get very bad flare ups.  I have become very overweight and feel I need to do this.  I have done weight watchers, Adkins, and various other diets.  All of which only helped temporarily.  I usually ended up weighing more after the diet.   I am looking forward to my new life.
 
I am now 2 months post op and no longer need any of my RA drugs.  I no longer need a CPAP machine.  I no longer take cholesterol statin drugs.  I feel so much better after losing almost 65 lbs as of 8/16/2015.  This surgery saved my like the advantages have come to far out weigh the risks.
