I am a 46 yr old woman who is at her wits end when it comes to weight loss. I am constantly fighting with myself and my fiance regarding my weight. I decided in Dec 2014 to go ahead and have the sleeve done. I started on 01/07/15 with my first screening visit and started making my appointments. I started at 264 lbs with BMI of 45.3. I was stressed out due to my insurance requiring me to have co-morbidities along with obesity in order to have the insurance pay. Well, the sucky part is that you have to literally wish something more was wrong with you so you do not get turned down. After my first blood test, I found that I have Type 2 Diabetes. That was the 'golden ticket' of sorts. I just needed a BMI of over 40 and diabetes to be eligible. So I am in month 2 of 6 months waiting period and supervised weight loss management. I hate that I have to weight, but am glad to be IN the process instead of sitting on the outside of it wishing I would have done something about my weight. My regret is not doing this sooner.
