Weigh has not always been an issue for me. It actually didn't start until I hit puberty, around 13 years old. Ever since then my weight has just crept up. My highest was the day I delivered my son, I reached 290 lbs! I can go on diets and hit the gym hard and usually manage to shed some of the weight off but not for long. I have a huge, insatiable appetite not to mention an equally comparable sweet tooth so the weight always came back. It was like a roller coaster ride of loosing and gaining, that is until 2011 when I had a hysterectomy due to Endometriosis. A few months after the surgery, I was feeling great. I got my weight down to 175 lbs. and took up running and actually ran my first 5K. Then I started to become increasingly more tired and fatigued, my hormone levels were dropping, and so was my energy levels. So here I am at my highest weight in 7 years :( and I have no energy and little desire to help myself get out of this rut. I have 2 close friends that have had the sleeve within the last year and are experiencing great results might I add. After learning more about this operation, I have decided to look more closely at it for myself. With a current BMI of 34 and no concerning health issues, I realize I have no other option but to be self-pay. I am preparing myself for this and have found a highly qualified surgeon who is about 2 hours away. I have been researching everything I can about this procedure, trying to educate myself thoroughly and am thankful for finding this forum and all of the wonderful people in it. Currently I am beginning this journey quite alone. I have only told a few people about my desire to have wls and my husband is offering no support at the present. He feels that I should do this the 'old fashioned way" through diet and exercise. I've tried to explain to him that one of my biggest downfalls is my extremely large appetite and how this always hinders my weigh loss attempts but he is not budging on his belief. I have faith that he will eventually come around  . Thank you for taking the time to read my little story and good luck to you all!
