Hi, I am interested in getting the gastric sleeve surgery. I have been doing my research for the past several months. My insurance company covers it, but I am not sure if I will get approved being that I don’t have any co-morbidities and my BMI is 35.8 as of today. I believe they require a 40 or above to cover the surgery.  I have been over weight most of my life and diabetes and heart issues run in my family. Both my maternal and paternal sides have always had weight/obesity issues. I am looking into going to Mexico to have my surgery done and do the self-pay but I will need a lot more information before I make my decision.
