About Me

I had lap band surgery August 31, 2006. It worked great for me. I lost 100 lbs. and maintained the weight loss through the years. At about 7 years post surgery I was able to eat more than I should and began to slowly gain weight. I gained about 10 lbs in the period of one year. I went to my Doc. and we did a upper GI which showed that my band had slipped. We Unfilled the band which brings me to now, waiting for the 2nd upper GI to see if the problem corrected itself. I know the Sleeve is the new "up and coming" thing in weight loss surgery and I am trying to decide if a revision from band to sleeve would be an option for me. The whole point of the band is the fact that its is removable and reversible and there is no cutting of the stomach. There is no turning back with a sleeve. You can't put the stomach back together if problems should arise in the future. If I need a revision surgery I would opt for another band. Even with the possible problems its still seems like the safest option. I would love some input and opinions. Would love to hear form someone who has dealt with this situation. Hope to hear from you soon.
