I am just starting on this bariatric path and looking mainly at going to Mexico and getting a gastric sleeve. It is very difficult to decide which surgeon, which hospital, how much to pay, etc. I have been quoted from $4500.00 to $6800.00. It is difficult to know what is the best decision for me and I welcome any feedback from those of you who struggled to make a decision about similar issues. My local weight loss surgeon charge $23500.00 and that seems really out of line for this surgery. Especially since insurance will not cover it in my case since I don't have any other medical issues except obesity. I am hoping to make a decision and move toward setting a date for mid-September. I am quite scared about the whole thing but determined not to live with this weight any more! Please let me know how you overcame your fears! Thanks for any advice!
