Hello all. I started considering bariatric surgery the summer of 2013. By November I had finally made a trip to the pre-meeting and had an appointment scheduled with a surgeon. My first hurdle was to join Weight Watchers for a six month period as an insurance requirement. I lost about 15 lbs through that process and it taught me a lot. Definetely not a waste of time. I had originally considered lapband surgery but became convinced that the sleeve was the better option for me. I had surgery on June 24 and was home in two days. Not one problem (knock on wood) since the procedure was done. Aside from being overweight, I was relatively heathly. I was out of work for two weeks and walked every single day. Lifesaver! Plan to do it! After another week or so I got back on the treadmill and have been on it about 5 times a week since. No weight lifting yet but excited for it. After five weeks, I'm not overly concerned about eating anything - of course as long as it's healthy. I havent had steak but I dont miss it. I have not had salad and I do miss that a lot. Ocassionally I eat more that I should. My brain still thinks I need more than my stomach says but its somewhat rare for me to do that. Eating about 600 to 800 calories a day. I've lost about 30 lbs since the surgery and I'm now averaging about a 1 to 2 lb loss per week. I feel great!
