My name is Katie, I'm a 32 yr. old, married, full-time working, mother of two, amateur photographer, and I began my journey of looking into having a bariatric surgery procedure in August of 2014. 

My mother had RNY procedure in 2003 and several of our family friends have had the procedure as well. I've completed a mandatory 6 months of supervised diet, nutritionist approval, psych approval, sleep test, LOTS OF LABS, ultra-sounds, support group meetings, surgery class, nutrition class, and a behavioral class. My last check in is on Feb 11th. My VSG surgery date will be March 24th in Lewistown, PA with Dr. Anthony Petrick.

I've struggled with my weight since around age 8. I've always been a bigger girl. I also struggle with compulsive eating, too large portions, and low energy so I'm not getting the exercise I should be. I'm doing better than I was, I have joined a local gym and go at least 3 days per week.

I am hoping to meet some friends on here whom I can bounce ideas and questions off of. Welcome to my journey!!
