About me
I had the Gastric Sleeve surgery in July 2014 and saw a raft of changes immediately in my eating and in my shape. It was in response to a co-morbidity of being obese that I am having this operation as I was diagnosed with Intracranial Hypertension, a condition that is damaging my optic nerve.

Along with my optic nerve damage I am affected by multiple conditions both directly and indirectly linked to or hampered by my obesity:
sleep apnoea, which is untreated; reflux; difficulty breathing, often leaving me out of breath; plantar fasciitis and a possible heel spur; a near constant presence of pain to some degree fluid retention and swollen ankles; bulging discs; and gallstones. The surgery has changed my life and I am a new woman... currently a size 18 (down from 28) and fitter than ever.
