My name is Marian. I am 54 years old. I have battled my weight for decades. I also battle Lupus which has been very hard. Some of the treatments for this disease cause weight gain. Eventually, my adrenal system was completely destroyed and I developed hypertension along with diabetes. Also I had developed chronic kidney disease. My inflammation factor was thru the roof and it was time to save my life. I want to live a normal life. As normal as I can with Lupus...so I began to research and Dr. Higa is who I chose to help me thru this. On May 5,2014 I took the step and had the sleeve gastrectomy. . I am 5 days post op and so far so good. I started at 270.8 pounds and this morning I weighed in at 264.6 lbs.
