Hello!! My name is Cathy. I will soon be two years post RNY (April 30). My HW 364, SW 350, CW 150 and GW 125. My surgeon is Peter Lalor and I had surgery at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green Ohio. I had a lot of complications in the beginning. I was in the hospital for a total of 33 days, I had 2 bowel obstructions and a perforated bowel. I ended up on a ventilator for a few days and eventually went home on a feeding tube and two drains. I had home health care come in and help me out along with my family. I do have to say, Dr Lalor is an amazing surgeon and I would not be here today if it was not for him. He has saved my life in more then one way. I have had a couple of stricture procedures, ulcers and a bowel that was flipping over itself, so I have had even more surgeries, including removing a portion of my bowel. I have to tell you though, that even with all these complications I would do this surgery (RNY) again in a heart beat. I now feel amazing!!! I have lost over 200 lb. I now go jogging, I did a 40 story climb for the American Lung Association and I am signed up for three 5K's this summer, not to mention I am going sky diving for my birthday in August! RNY surgery was the best (also scariest) thing I have ever done with my life. I can truly say I love my RNY and my surgeon and all his nurses and staff. I am always being asked about my story, I always tell everyone that if I can be soooo happy with everything I have been through, imagine how happy they would be if they have no complications or just a few! Its so worth it. Definitely life changing!!
