[size=3][font='comic sans ms']I have actually been on my weight loss journey for most of my life with no success, clearly, because here I am. I have been through multiple diet programs and medications. In the meantime, the extreme diets and pills have done more harm than good and was very little help when it came to continuous, steady and long-term weight loss. My gastric sleeve journey began in November of 2012; I have had Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield and have been fighting for an approval since my last required appointment which was with a dietitian. I have done all the pre-op appointments and requirements and my doctor's office submitted my prior authorization request in March 2013 and I was denied for lack of diagnosis and proving that I have been overweight for the past 2 years. I have had every doctor, including my psychiatrist write letters of recommendation to BCBS stating my struggles and their approval of me having weight loss surgery, but it was not enough. I awaiting my second reconsideration decision, which was denied on May 3, 2013. I submitted new documentation, pictures included and they denied it before they even reviewed the documentation. When I called to inquire about the documentation they had not received it and once they did which was on May 7, 2013 and I was told that they would reopen my request based on the new information, but I am not sure what will happen next since they have been so adamant about denying my request I am not sure if they will actually consider my new request seriously. [color=#222222]Just patiently waiting to see what the next step will be...hopefully it will be my approval! *fingers crossed* [/color][/font][/size]

[size=3][font='comic sans ms']Well that effort was a bust , they denied me for the final time and this denial came from OPM.[/font][/size]

[size=3][font='comic sans ms']Today is June 9, 2014 and I am back with a vengeance I have changed my insurance and am now in the 5th month of my 6 month medically supervised weight loss program. In the meantime, I did develop gallstones and am hoping to have my gallbladder removed during this surgery. [/font][/size]
