In 2003 my world fell apart. I was sold to Hewlett-Packard by Procter & Gamble. This made my (now I know) bi-polar disorder to go into overdrive. I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism and told the medication would make me all better. It didn't I started gaining weight at an alarming rate. I tried walking, physical labor and dieting all at once and all I accomplished was the status quo. I made one previous attempt at having a Roux n y but gained 9lbs one month and they refused to do the surgery. During this time I also had breast cancer. My life had really hit an all time low. Fast forward to today. My top weight was 250 something and I've learned that I have to eat a silly low amount of calories to lose weight. Something I've been doing since my PCP told me if I lost 10lbs in 2 months he would give me a referral. To lose that weight I had to eat 1/4 cup of oatmeal for breakfast and mostly chicken broth for lunch. Since then I've continued losing even though I couldn't keep up my diet after the referral. I'm now watching what and what portion sizes that I eat which is good practice for the sleeve. Now my biggest challenge is getting the money together and I finally have the $575 to start. I'm looking forward to my first appointments and getting started on my journey to recapture the thinner inner me.
