About Me

2/15/16 I am post -op gastric bypass for one year and four months . Being a former athlete most of my life and

always a holistic health advocate it took me over two years contemplating this surgery . Due to PCOS
and various gluten intolerances I gain over a hundred pounds in a year  and could not get my weight down and keep it off and was subjected to the typical yo yo dieting effects . I became diabetic and my adrenals were shot giving me chronic fatigue and depression . I also suffered from GERD  I was not recommended by various surgeons to have any other surgery but RNY . I had learned from a few surgery patients mostly friends of friends of their various complications post op they encountered but no one could influence me not to have this surgery . I was determined that it was the only answer .
During the year post op I had no immediate physical complications from the surgery itself so I thought wow thank God . However ... I definitely suffered from extreme brain fog barely being able to form an intelligent conversation from the nutrient deficiencies . I was super frustrated all of the time . That did surpass after a while but now at this point I have to admit I could have achieved the weight loss if I diligently and consistently worked hard at it . I am grateful that the surgery changed my brain chemistry and basically turned me off to all of the foods that I was craving and could not get enough of . I am truly struggling however to eat enough food and get my nutrients in . I have developed an ulcer and completely miserable . I feel I lost the weight consistently but I have aged dramatically in a years time and my skin looks horrible . I still experience a lot of rumbling in my stomach when I eat most things which is slightly uncomfortable  and I am always stressing as to what I will be able to tolerate . The ulcer is nearly impossible to cure . I am miserable  ultimately and have no energy to work out . I m losing weight still and looking emaciated . All I can think about is how much I regret having this procedure . I would love meet /chat with others with similar issues or any kind of negative experiences
