    body image post op

I felt the same way as you. Looking at the old "me" may be not as appealing but beautiful in its own way. Now I have lost 70lbs and a new beauty came out in all sorts of ways. You become a new image. I did make the decision for health reasons and I knew quickly I wanted to be healthy and alive for my kids. I learned to pick out outfits that would never fit me then so although I was feeling fine about my image I also was in a big person world. Hope this makes sense. Society and people are visual in many ways . Some people are and some aren't but one thing I know is you accept yourself and the right people will be in your life
  2. Just wanted to reach out to any almost one year anniversary!!!! I'm thrilled and hoping to get to my 100 lb loss by April. I'm cure toy at 66 lbs and finally getting my head back in the game from the holiday busy schedule/ vacation/ everyone getting sick at home. Exercise exercise exercise is something I love doing now, and I feel so much better doing it. There isn't a moment when I'm working out that I think "I wasting my time". I have to admit I thought that prior to surgery. I would join expensive gyms , hire an expensive trainer get in a routine and after a month lose 5-10 Lbs to gain it back in a week- now I see the weight shedding and it motivates me. I went shopping by myself (without my kids so I was not in a hurry) and found myself in the plus sizes when in reality I'm not there anymore. My mind was telling me check out the plus sizes when I'm wearing a Lrg or Med in women. At that moment I felt sad, remembering the person I used to be and the life I lived trapped in a body I shouldn't have been in. I feel more confident, loved, noticed by others and accepted then I ever felt. I don't know why? I'm still the same person just in smaller body. This surgery saved me and don't regret it one bit but I'm still dealing with emotions, is anyone else dealing with the same? I'm asking all to help motivate me if possible from now on to April to help keep me on track for the 100 lb lose and pray for my emotional growth. Changes aren't easy but who said you can't be happy with the changes that will make life better!

    April Sleevers

I must be a loser. I was sleeved April 10th with no pre- op diet....starting weight 238 & today 190 almost 50 lbs. I've been exercising faithfully this week so I will weigh myself then. I weigh myself on Sundays and have been stalled for a slow losing #. Any suggestions? Thinking in going back to liquids for a jump start.
  4. I'm so glad I had this surgery but I can't stop thinking about my weight I have lost. April 10th was my day 43 lbs down! Woo Hoo !

    Anyone from AZ

I was sleeved with dr Monash ! Love him and love my sleeve
  6. So I need some help! I was sleeved April 10, 2012. & have lost 32lbs. Well, prior to surgery my primary care physician referred me to an endocrinogist to help monitor my diabetes and pcos: Has anyone seen and Endo ? Or anything? I kinda feel disappointed thinking the doctor would not recommend surgery being they are a specialist and that they really spend time medicating or finding other activities .

    Flu Or Stomach

    Thank you all
  9. The last 2 days I've been nauseas, dry heaving, diarrhea ( sorry TMI). I dont know if it's my sleeve or the stomach flu? I also have had on and off pain on my left side that travels to middle. ( kinda pulsing pain) It goes away and comes back? The day it started I ate half an egg, 1 slice bacon and 2 bites of hash brown, at lunch I had a cup of clam chowder. When I had lunch I was feeling nauseas and thought I had to eat. I was waking up in goose bumps and sweat running to the bathroom. I was sleeved 4/10 (6 weeks) Anyone had this? I'm miserable and today I'm slowly eating...but I did have a couple sips of seven up.

    Pain On Left Side

I had the same feeling and my doctor said he put a deep suture through my muscle. He said it takes 3 months to recover. He said that is we're they go in and cut through a huge muscle, so they put a deep suture in. I was sleeved 4/10, I'm 6 weeks
  11. Wow you're doing better than me and I was sleeved 4/10...I'm only down 24 lbs , what are you doing other than waking up so early and working out. I fluctuate on working out so I have to get better at that !

Let's Start At The Very Beginning

My dr was Dr Monash, his team has been wonderful! I was sleeved 4/10/12 and although I am still recovering, making lifestyle changes and trying to figure out my true size of stomach I wouldn't have changed anything. My friend had Dr Galvin and heard he was good too. Dr Monash speaks to me personally anytime I have a question and is always there to talk without feeling rushed.
