I might be crazy. I went skiing 2.5 weeks post op.

Has anyone gong skiing soon after surgery? I had surgery on 3/1/17 and was back to work on 3/6. I have been on 6 plane rides sjnce and I'm feeling fine. So I figured why not go skiing. I took it easy, tried not to go too fast. But after 2 hours of skiing I started feeling a pulling sensation on my lower left abdomen. Do I need to be concerned I may have pulled on the stapled seam?

Contact your surgeon, no one here can guess that.

I agree with @_Kate_. Call your surgeon.

This has to be a spam account or troll post. skierChic joined the site 4 hours ago, posts in the Guys Room about skiing 2 weeks post op. Skiing. Who in the hell has energy, much less the range of movement, necessary for skiing two weeks post op?! And if that isn't strange enough, instead of going to an emergency room she joins a web forum to ask a bunch of strangers what to do? I just don't buy it.

On the off chance that this is real, jesus... go to a hospital.

Not judging. But I'm surprised you qualified for surgery at your weight and height.

Sounds like you're well on the road to recovery!

Could be doable..not advisable, but Doable. I went apple picking 5 days post op and then cooked thanksgiving dinner. Was fine to do both, able to take rests, breaks. And mad my hubby carry the heavy bags. No I'll effects. Would I have gone skiing? Nope, probably not

I have noticed a few like that recently. Sad really.

What? I'm getting surgery today, and you guys think I have to cancel my white-water rafting trip next week? Y'all nuts!

(Just kidding!... today IS the day though!)

Eh, I felt good enough to ski 2 1/2 weeks post op. I didn't, but I did fly to another country and walk nearly 15 miles a day at a high altitude. Some of us recover quickly. I don't think it's a troll. But, concur on the other point- only your doctor can help with this query.

I can understand feeling good after surgery because I felt really great!!!
BUT there are some limitations to what you can do do you can heal on the inside. You should have consulted with your DR. Before going skiing.
I would have been afraid of falling and shaking my body up which could cause harm. Maybe you should have scheduled your surgery after skiing.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
