Not sure i'm losing enough

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, i had gastric bypass on 1/23/17 which was roughly 4 weeks ago, i've lost 16 lbs. I've seen that people have lost more, i'm just concerned my rate is slow. Can anyone else tell me about how much they've lost within about this time period?

Thanks!

I don't think (and also, in my experience) there is any amount of weight that is "enough" or "the right amount". Your body is unique to you and it will do what it will do.

It never hurts to assess what you are doing and tweak things if you feel you need to, but you will lose weight. How slow or how fast depends on your individual makeup.

Just stay the course and keep the faith.

It depends on your body, and how high your starting weight was. Usually people with a higher starting weight will lose faster. It'll also help to incorporate lots of exercises!

I was sleeved 11/7 & im down 43lbs since the day of surgery. I always felt it was moving slowly but I'm ok with it now. I wouldn't have been able to lose 43 lbs in 3.5 months without the sleeve as a "tool".

I had my surgery (RNY) on 1/23, also and I am down only 14lbs post op. I have my 1 month appt with my surgeon tomorrow and I'm hoping to be cleared for exercise - more than walking - to maybe jumpstart my weight loss a little.

It's reassuring to know that we are not alone.

I, too had RNY on 1/24 am only down maybe 16 lbs. it's easy to compare yourself to others, but try not to. Easier said than done. We all start wondering "what am I doing wrong?" Many factors to consider like others said...starting weight, etc. If I had lost 30 lbs, then I'd be worried of the other extreme [emoji4] I think we're just fine! Take care~

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
