I am 11 days post op and on full liquids....just yesterday i woke up feeling fairly well. I drank my morning Water and Protein shake with absolutely no discomfort or pain which I had been having prior to yesterday...Before I could literally feel the liquids squeeze through my stomach. Now I drink with no feeling at all...not even fullness. It was so hot out yesterday that I even guzzled my Water and crystal light down a couple times...still no discomfort. When I got home I made cream of mushroom Soup. I poured it into small china bowl and sipped on it until it was empty.

Just today, when fixing another bowl of Soup i realized that the bowl is 7oz!!!!!!!!! oh boy. how did I get down 7oz without getting sick or even feeling it?? after I noticed that I just drank half of it, even though i didnt feel full.

At this point, how much should we be taking in per meal?

The swelling is going down so You won't feel your restriction till you're off of liquids. 8oz in 30 mins should be your goal. The most important thing to remember is to eat until you're satisfied, not eat till you're full.

8oz? I thought it was 4oz... all my meal sheets show 4oz. But yes! Your stomach is likely still swollen, and it's healing. I have yet to feel full and I'm 2 weeks out. But I also get paranoid and stop eating before everything is gone because I really don't want to overdo it and feel pain.

Yes 8oz.. They wanted me to work up to 8oz by the end of the second week. Gradually increasing each day. Again as I stated to stop when you are satisfied and not when you're full.

Those aren't meals, they are liquids. They don't count they slide through your stomach as you are drinking them. Your swelling is just going down faster than most people.

When you have your first couple bites on soft foods, you will really get to know your sleeve. And the pain of fullness early on.

I was the same way with my surgery and could take down liquids well with no hurting sensation. I even asked my Nut about it and he said I'm a rate case but that it wasn't bad and that I was just a fast healer. But once I got to the eating stage trust me whole different ball game. My first time was 2 bites and I was done. I still struggle to eat but the liquids still go down with no problem....hang in there and just talk to your nutritionist

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
