Recommended Posts

I went for my consultation with my surgeon Dr. Gary Korus at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia Pennsylvania went ok here are some stats about me:

22

Female

Height: 5ft 9 inches

Weight:325.8

The appointment consisted of a medical history, I got my height and weight taken, I met with the nurse practitioner, then the dietitian and she gave me a booklet about how to measure food intake and how much Protein and Fiber is a good amount to eat. I also got some of my tests done today I got my lab work done, an ekg done, and a xray of my chest done. I have to get sn ultrasound of my veins in my legs on May 4th. My psychological appointment has already been scheduled for July 20th. . now all I have to do is a sleep study and a abdominal ultrasound and do the last two weight management classes and I should be all set my surgeon told me that if I get all my testing done I should be getting surgery in the beginning of August CAN'T WAIT

Congratulations! I'm curious, do they do the ultrasound on your legs to look for potential blood clots? Pulmonary embolism scares me more than the actual surgery . . .

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
