So, I'm paying my deposit this week for my spiral thigh lift in September and for some reason I'm really hesitating. I guess because it's so far off it feels weird to be paying the deposit this early? It just doesn't seem "real" yet. Plus even just the deposit is a fair amount of money and that has me freaking out a little, though I do get the deposit back completely if I change my mind more than 30 days before surgery. So I really don't know why I'm hesitating, but I am.... Seems weird because usually when I decide something, I've decided and I don't look back.

Paying the deposit this far in advance does seem odd. Can't say I blame you for the hesitation but I am sure it will be fine. Can't wait to hear how your results go. I will need a thigh lift myself when I get to goal. My thighs look like crepe paper...ugh

@@ShrinkingPeach I have to pay it so early because my surgeon is WAY booked up. She's already almost full on August dates and starting to get there with September, so I want to make sure I get my deposit in to secure my date.

Not looking back makes sense when it's a thing -- a house, a car or smaller items. When it's your body, that's another story. It's the ultimate house. September does sound a long way off, leaving time to think. Too bad you're not going in in another week or so just to avoid all the anticipation. You'll be so happy once it's done, though.

Do you happen to have a link to a spiral incision diagram or illustration? I took a quick look with no luck and am curious to know the difference between it and the deep V incision that I've seen.

The only woman I know of in our part of the world is Jennifer Capla. Is she yours?

@@WLSResources/ClothingExch The best diagram I have found is in this PDF:

I'm traveling to Tijuana to have my surgery with Dra. Laura Carmena Cardenas. She's the same surgeon I had my Tummy Tuck and breast lift/augmentation with about 5 years ago.

@@JamieLogical, thanks for the link. I misunderstood earlier, thinking it was work only on the medial thigh.

You've probably mentioned your earlier surgery, so I either missed it or it slipped my mind. Your next trip to Tijuana will be here before you know it.

Maybe you are just anxious because you know it means a break from running, which you seem to love.

That definitely has me scared. I have the surgery scheduled for 9 days after the full marathon I'm hoping to run in September. I figure the down-time for surgery will be a nice break after all this half marathon and marathon training. But I am a little scared of what the lack of exercise will do for my weight and my conditioning. Dra. Cardenas says I can start doing some *light* running again 6 weeks post-op, but that seems very optimistic to me. I'd be happy to just be able to start training again in January for next summer's running season.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
