I Am Thankful For My Stall

Recommended Posts

I keep coming back to these boards because of posts like this. I have almost stopped a couple of times because of super sensitive people or people who feel its there duty to tell me when they feel I am being "mean" to someone (I am direct when I detect people trying to "bargain" their way to poor behavior or having a pity party!)

But this post alone has made it worthwhile for me. I have had 2 long stalls in the 29 weeks since I had my surgery. Both lasted for a month. The first one was the dreaded 3 week and was very frustrating. However, I could read here how this was normal and to quit worrying about it. I put the scale away and stopped weighing myself everyday, and instead just checked every week or so.

After the stall ended, the weight fell off very rapidly. My waist went from a 48 to a 36 in a matter of 5 months. Stalled again around Haloween and just weighed again this morning to find I was losing pounds again.

Am actually looking to lose about 5 more pounds and then start adding weight gain shakes into my diet to stop losing weight. My doctor doesn't want me to lose anymore. Weird place for me to be to say the least!

I am very thankful for my stall only because I can get back to my normal routine, because I'm losing weight fast my energy levels go down the drain. I can barely lift a my arms to tie my hair. The doctor said it is normal and to continue taking my Protein and Vitamin, but even though I've only stalled once I'm thankful that my body can catch up to the weight loss

I think I just broke the dreaded 3 week stall today. I didn't sweat it during week and a half of so that I was on it because I knew it was coming. I am grateful for it because I can currently take off my jeans without unbuttoning them! It was definitely my body reevaluating and repairing itself.

Look, considering the limitations to the amount of food I can shovel into my maw, the fact that I am making good food choices of what DOES enter my maw, and the calorie count needed to maintain my current weight, there is NO WAY I can do anything but lose weight. A plateau in the actual weight loss is no biggie. It will come off. In order to maintain my current weight I would need to eat upwards of 3,000 calories a day. That is simply not possible when you focus on your Protein and Water goals.

Embrace the stall!

I have to buy new pants in smaller sizes after stalls. While the scale doesn't move in the direction I would like it to, I'm still losing inches and building stronger muscles. Six months out today. Compliments still come in.

I am grateful for my stall as it made me friends with MyFitnessPal.

I can now see exactly how much Protein I had, how much Sugar, how many Carbs etc, each day.

How often I exercise, and do I stick to my goal re exercising

How much Water I really drank .....

Gosh, there are so many Hidden Sugars !!!

I knew about them, but never really looked into this, until now ....

So, I am grateful :)

I am thankful for my stall, as it made me realise that I need to be patient, and to chill out worrying about it.

And my body is shrinking! In its own time !

Now, 2 additional kilos lost, and I reached my first milestone of Under 90 kg :)

So, stall or no stall, it is just another part in this journey for me.

I agree with what has been posted. Both of my stalls have resulted in my clothes fitting better and my scale also registers a couple of % point drop in body fat during stalls.

My last stall forced me to go back on track, and back to basics!

Recently I over-indulged in frozen yoghurt, thinking that it is healthier than ice-cream ....

Well, it gave me bigger and bigger sugar cravings, and my scales did not budge for 2 weeks.

Soonest I gave it up and substituted with berries and rock/honey dew melons, my weight is peeling off again!

I just can't have any sugar laden slider foods, Sugar Demon be gone!

Basics work for me :)

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
