If they are able to do it with a laser you probably wont need any. They will close them with glue. If they use stiches or staples you may need some small dressings, like 2x2. I actually have both types of incisions, but even the one that has stiches I don't change the dressing, it is covered with waterproof tape so I can take a shower.

I go Monday to have the stiches removed.

Good luck!

My surgeon told me it's actually the same glue they use in building airplanes! I had glue on the incisions. But the one incision where the drain was got covered with a gauze pad and tape for 2 days and then just big Band Aids for a couple more days until it had closed enough.

Mine took about 3 weeks to come off. My surgeon told me not to pick at it. Then when I went to see him 22 days after surgery he ripped one piece off and that hurt!

I had glue with steri-strips and bandages. I was told the bandages could come off after 24 hours. I could shower then and the steri-strips came off on their own over time.

I just had glue. I was instructed I could shower but just to be careful not to rub/scrub them. The glue eventually comes off on its own.

I had glue as well also told the same just don't scrub them or pull at them just allow it to come off naturally it did itch some but wasn't intolerable

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
