Never thought I would ever RUN a 5k, especially under 30 min. But here I am with a PR of 26 min 17 sec and winning 3rd place overall female. If I can do it....anyone can!!!

Wow, that is amazing. I am running a 5K this Saturday and just hope to finish under 40 minutes. You motivate me to keep at it and hopefully someday I'll finish under 30 minutes.

Congratulations! That's an amazing accomplishment. I'm struggling right now with running. I can only make it like 20 ft at a time. Did you start this way? How did you build up to this if you don't mind me asking?

This wasn't addressed to me but I can answer with a resounding YES!!!

Try the couch to 5k program. It's all over the Internet and there are lots of apps (I used get running). It has you do walk/run intervals and build your way up. When I started I thought I was gonna DIE running 20 seconds. But just push through. Repeat days or weeks if you need to to feel more comfortable.

I did couch to 5k about 15 months ago and just ran my first FULL marathon Sunday. Ran the whole 26.2 miles! I was never a runner--heck in HS I was one of the girls walking and chatting at the back of the pack in PE. If I can do it you can!!'

I also started with the c25k program. I took it very slow. I also found that running outside was a much better option for me. I pushed myself further and further each time. I keep looking back on where I was and it hasnt even been a year since I started running. I am signed up for my 1st half marathon in july and have not ever felt this healthy or strong in my entire life. Good luck to you and hopefully you can post one of these pics someday!!!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
