Bikram Yoga and the Lap Band

Recommended Posts

Last night I attended my very first yoga class, and on top of that it was bikram yoga!!!

Holy Moly, I've never been so hot and sweaty in my entire life.

Anyway, I was eating my dinner about half an hour after the class and managed to get a bit of a stuck episode.. At first I thought it was just me not chewing properly as tends to happen when I am beyond hungry. However, I continued to vomit until around midnight - even with no food left in the tank.

I am wondering if it is more the shock to the system with being in that intense heat, or even if the band could possibly tighten during such exercises??

I've woken up fine and have had no issues with eating or drinking anything today.

I'd love to know your thoughts or even if you can offer some advice about this??

I had a beginner hot yoga class but the temp was warm, not hot. But the reason I didn't keep going was my LOUD knees. We held poses for several minutes, and my cracking knees sounded like a machine gun. I couldn't help but burst out laughing uncontrollably. Since I am sure I was a disruption to the class, I dropped yoga and decided walking was more my thing.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
