Hey everyone, I'm 5 months post op and currently down 94lbs, feeling great. I just have one problem.. I can't seem to get my Protein in. It may just be me looking with my eyes closed but I can't seem to find many protein Snacks. In the USA they seem to have so many options and here there is just not much to chose from. Plus I love to try before I buy in bulk but most online places don't do single protein bars/drinks etc.. Does anyone have any help/advice? All would be appreciated! Thank you! :)

Quest also has chips in several flavors that have 20 gm of Protein per bag.

Other Snacks I use: the P3 portable Protein pack from Oscar Mayer, hard boiled eggs, greek yogurt with cottage cheese to up the protein content and Jerky (pork, beef, turkey, buffalo). I also have cheese sticks of many different cheeses for a quick handy snack.< /p>

As for Protein drinks I have found over the past 2 years several ways to "spice" up the bland vanilla flavored shake. I have added pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice to a vanilla shake to make pumpkin pie shakes, I make chai tea and add the tea to a vanilla shake to make a chai latte (yummy). Of course you can make a fruit smoothie or veggie smoothie with what ever fruit/veggie combo you like with the vanilla shake (or unflavored protein)

Yes - as a UK Sleever I can say the range of Protein Snacks is not as wide-ranging as it seems to be for our fellow Sleevers across 'The Pond'.

However, have you been introduced to Nakd bars? They are packed with fruit and nuts only therefore sugar and gluten-free but high in natural Protein. Hope you're not allergic to nuts!

They sell in all the good supermarkets here (around 50p-85 pence per bar depending on the deals) but you can also buy online and choose from their wide range of flavours: a pack of 18 bars will cost you £14-15. They also do specific Protein Bars and flapjacks which sound delicious. As I chose not to eat sugar products some months before I was sleeved I sadly cannot eat these because the Protein Bars contain raw cane sugar.

Have a look at their website: http://www.naturalbalancefoods.co.uk/nakd-crunch-bars/

However, cannot get away from the fact that home-made Snacks are probably the best and Eggface's blogs are fantastic for high protein snack recipes as is bariatriccookery.com.

Also, remember to keep it simple: a beautiful Pink Lady apple peeled, sliced and with a small pot of Greek yoghurt is a great protein snack you can carry anywhere with you.

94 pounds lost is amazing!!!! :D

I currently take muscle milk. They have a version of 32g. Hubby found one with 50g from pure pro (link below). Doctor said anything was ok as long as it doesn't exceed 200 calories for me. He also suggested a Protein bullet, which I am drinking tonight because I need 40g more Protein since I didn't eat a lot today. Got this bullet from Walmart. New whey liquid Protein, 42g, 3.8 oz and no sugar, gluten, carbs.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
