Tomorrow is the day

I start my 2 week liquid tomorrow and tonight I am going out for my last dinner. I am scared, nervous and excited all at the same time. I have a lot of anxiety also- questioning myself, can I do this? Can anybody relate?

Yep, and yes you can. I did it!

The worst part in many ways was the pre-op diet because you are hungry like a lion. After surgery at least you have almost no hunger.

The first couple weeks are recovery mode but after that it's a ramp up to a much better you. I feel better then I felt 10 years ago. The 63 lbs lost in 13 weeks is physically liberating. I can't even describe how good I feel physically. I could just run the upstairs just for fun. Before, I made sure I had all I needed when I went downstairs in the morning and my kids were the one taking and getting things for me. I avoided stairs like the plague.

Good luck

I can relate. My last meal I went with my siblings and thought it was like " the last supper". Enjoy your dinner tonight. I am 3 weeks since surgery and glad I may the decision. The 2 weeks will go by fast.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
